Thank you for posting this. Worked perfectly. Some notes below (in case it's useful to someone else):

  • Step 4: dnn_PortalAlias was simply PortalAlias for me in the initial Query
  • The Update script did not work. So in the GD SQL Manager I simply opened the table, viewed the contents of PortalAlias and used the edit tool to change the HTTPAlias
  • The contents of my app_online.htm file was: <html><head></head><body>We are currently down for maintenance.</body></html>
I post this because I didn't know what it should be and had to Google it.

Afternoon all,

The solution above (http://www.markjohnsonblog.com/?p=1352) doesn't seem to work any longer on late-versions of DNN, specifically 5.6.2. Were there changes in DNN and using the HostHeader setting in web.config that break it?

At my DotNetNuke Subscription Based blogs, I've covered all the steps to install and maintain a DotNetNuke installation under Godaddy with multiple instances, multiple websites under single/multiple installations.

Although my tutorials still works for DNN 5.6.3 and DNN 6, starting with this week I'm going to upgrade all tutorials again.

For a limited time I'll keep subscription rates at same level. So, if you are interested in you can subscribe to my service and get perfect support for DotNetNuke & Godaddy.

Btw, you can also use Hostgator but their domain quota is limited to 5 in enterprise plans (Godaddy has unlimited domain support)

For hostgator, you can use HOSTMYDOTNETNUKE couponcode to get a free month try.

Personally recommend Hostgator for hosting single or multiple DotNetNuke Websites.
