Hi,

This is weird, and was wondering if anyone can help.

I have a table with 3 columns in my skin, a leftpane, contentpane and a right pane. The left and content panes have a color background set in the css file and as usual I have it set for 100% width. When I add the blog to the content pane the rightpane background changes to the same as the left and content pane. I was hoping to keep the rightpane background white. Another thing to note is that when I place the blog module in the rightpane and the other module components in either of the other panes the background colors are not changed, meaning the background of the blog is white and the background to the components are colored.

Thanks for any help resolving this.

Is there a URL where we can view the issue you're talking about?  It will help to actually see the HTML and CSS in a page where you're experiencing this problem.

Thanks,

Don

Hi,

The site is currently on dev server, the link to the blog is: (http://ecl.gallopmarine.ca/Blog/tabid/57/Default.aspx)

I am currently changeing some of the css so if some of the text looks funky it's just me and not related to the columns issue. I did manage a work around by placing a text/html module in the right pane, for some reason this forced the background go back to what's it's supposed to be (which is no background).

On another note: I'm trying to change the style of links that appear in the blog entries..  but I'm no css expert by any means and trial and error takes forever. I want to change the color of the links from red to light blue when hovering over the them. Do you know which class/cssclass needs to change?

Thanks for helping.

Since you have a workaround to the color issue, I didn't dig into this.  As you have noticed solving CSS issues can be time consuming.  I've found the Web Developer Firefox Add-on to be a wonderful time saver when it comes to solving CSS problems.

Regarding the issue with links, the anchor tag colors are set in the middle of portals/_default/default.css.  You can change the hover style as follows:

A:hover
{
 text-decoration: underline;
 color: #6666ee;
}
