I saw a similar thread, but I'm not sure if the answer gets me there...

I noticed that in the container skin file this line:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="TITLE" Src="~/Admin/Containers/Title.ascx" %>

Which tells me that I need to look at this file to learn where the style resides. So I opened it and learned this:
<dnn:DNNLabelEdit id="lblTitle" runat="server" cssclass="Head" enableviewstate="False" MouseOverCssClass="LabelEditOverClass"

I found a default.css with a .Head class
I changed that color to white and saw no changes. I'm thinking that the dnn:DNNLabelEdit CssClass does not work for changing the default view. But, that is the only thing I've found so far... The portal.css has no Head class.

Containers are like skins. They also have their own CSS file.

You might want to check the Container.css file. However, if you just making changes to .Head class from skin.css, it should work.

Well but if you change the skin.css it will only work if there are no .Head tags in the container. Cause of the cascade the container.css file takes precedence over the skin.css when regarding containers. You just need to look for the .Head class in the container's .CSS file and change it. Note if you make a change to any file in the filestructure, you should really re-synch the portal in the file manager, and I have sometimes needed to reparse the skin / container I was working / editing with. Oh and press refresh on browser, with http compression and caching around DNN some browsers like to really hold onto that page's viewstate a bit to long.

That's why a good practice is to use a separate CSS file for containers (Container.css) and a separeate CSS file for the skins (Skin.css). So you won't mess it up.
