Hi

I have various user groups set up in DNN. Is there a way DNN can email a user or host telling them the have updated priviliges

Users will automatically be notified by email when you add or remove them from roles. If you have proper role descriptions then the email will be more informative for them. There is also a box you can un-tick if you don't want the person to be notified.

I can't make the notification working. Can you explain how to configure the notification (when user is created or its password reset...) ?

The host SMPT settings are correct.

Check that the admin account that is the portal owner has a valid email address. Also check the the amil address for support in host settings is valid. Also try clicking the test link next to the SMTP settings and ensure that an email arrives in your inbox. Try sending an email to someone using the Admin, Newsletter page.

if all that is fine then there may be a problem. The is another long thread going on somewhere here about not being able to email from the portal. Have a browse and see if you can find it. I'm not sure now ehere it is.. I just see the posts going through my inbox.
