Hi,

I've wondering if it is a good idea to include a Upgrade Readme txt into the installation and upgrade zipfile?

I had i few problems with upgrading, i made a update procedure to prevent problems.

With the upgrade to 4.8.2 i had a extra problem because of the validationkey=”AutoGenerate,Isolate”. If there would be a Readme you always have good insturctions and less problems.

Documentation of web.config settings will be one of the tasks for a Documentation team, when it will be created. Are there any volunteers?

out of interest what was the problem with the validationkey? A unique validationkey will be automatically generated during install, and the only reason we changed it is to ensure that it was impossible for an insecure default to be used (i.e. if the web.config was marked as readonly)

The problem was that i copied the complete <machineKey from my backup web.config to the new web.config. After that i could login anymore. I didn't noticed the change validationKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps". When i've found out my mistake i changed this back and everything worked fine again. I think when there would be a update readme specific changes like the validationKey could be placed there and there and there would be less updating problems :).
