I just installed 4.08 on my remote host server and everything seems to work great with the exception that when I add a new page and I want to add text and images (not  a module) I am not able to.  In my test environment on my local machine, when I add  a new page, it adds a text content box but I do not get that on my remote installation.  Is there a configuration that I need to set or do I need to install an additional module?

My install did not install many modules and I had to individually install the ones that I wanted.  I am not sure if there is a setting that I am missing... I am a DNN newbie and have lots of ideas for leveraging the platform,  adding text would get me on my way!  Can anyone help out a DNN challenged friend?

From the control panel you can simply select text/html from the module drop down and click add. This workaround should get you back on your way.

We always used to add a module to a page using the control panel or admin | pages | add new page.  The automatic text module feature was introduced a while ago.

You are right!  I have a couple installations and some add the text module automatically and some don't. when adding a new page. I noticed this the other day with 4.8.2 and thought I was just getting tired. 

It seems to have something to do with page templates.Thanks to your question I looked into it and did find a difference between the default template and exported page templates <definition /> <moduledefinition /> but I haven't figured out what doesn't work when adding a new page.

Others may want to look into this as well.
