This error is almost always because the packaging is wrong.  You must have a zip file to install that is named for the skin and contains only the two zip files "skins.zip" and "containers.zip" (might be one or the other, might have some licensing, but those are the zip files the system looks for).  Using the XP/Vista Send to Compressed folder option will get you too many levels of folders and not have the correct names.

it is confusing for sure...Here is what I've noticed...sometimes zip programs tend to goof up the structure on you.

Do this

Create an empty zip folder called "skins.zip" and another called "containers.zip"

Drop all the files related to a skin in the skins.zip and containers into the containers.zip

then create another empty zip folder called whatever you want....skinpackagename, drop both the zip files into the last zip file you made, and viola, it's done.

Here is another way to look at it, by example.  if I were makeing a skin I'd do this:

MyCoolSkinname.zip

• Contains:

• Skin.zip

• contains files:
  • MyCool2PaneSkin.html
  • skin.css  <remind me...are these plural or singlar?>
  • skin.xml
  • MyCool2PaneSkin.doctype.xml

• containers.zip

• contains files:
  • MyAwesomeRedH1Container.xml
  • container.css <same..not sure if it's plural or not..I think it's singluar >
  • container.xml  <not sure if this is required...I don't make containers ever really..bought some nice ones >

Anyhow thats kind of the structure it should be...please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
