I made a Silverlight module for my DNN site using VS08 and DNN v.4.8.0. In order to display the Silverlight control, you have to upgrade DNN to .net 3.5 ( is this true?)

One of the DLLs that silverlight uses is System.Web.Extensions v 3.5. I had my DNN site building in .net 2.0 before and I got the error that Silverlight 2.0 uses Extensions 3.5 but the current version is Extensions 1.0. After build the DNN site under .net 3.5, the problem goes away and the silverlight module works fine.

My question is, has anyone encountered any issues using the System.Web.Extensions v3.5?

Thank you.

The only way I can get Silverlight 2.0 to work with DotNetNuke is to use the Silverlight Control with ASP.NET 3.5. see:

Has anyone been able to make a Silverlight 2.0 application work with DotNetNuke?

Thank you for your quick reply.

When you say "Has anyone been able to make a Silverlight 2.0 application work with DotNetNuke", is your DotNetNuke installation built under .net 2.0 or .net 3.5? (I'm guessing your DNN installation is built under .net 3.5, but I'm just trying to clarify)

Like I mentioned in my original post, I can get silverlite 2.0 to work (my custom SL module and your "Hello, World" Module) on my DNN site, but I just have to build DNN in VS08 under the .net 3.5 framework. When I try to build the DNN installation under .net 2.0, I receive the System.Web.Extensions version incompatibality error mentioned in my 1st post.

Thank you for your kind attention.

The Silverlight control only works with asp.net 3.5. Yes I have to run the site under asp.net 3.5 to use Silverlight 2.0.
