I have 2 Forums that allow Users to post threads and replies. I also have a Forum with general helpful information on my site. I have that 'helpful information' forum set to allow only the Roles of Administrator and Moderator to post threads or replies. However, Users are able to post to it, despite the Forum Settings indicating that they can't.

The Tooltip Text for 'FORUM IS ENABLED' says If checked, the forum is open for viewing to all those who can see it and posting for all those who are permitted to postDoes this mean that the settings of the User override the settings of the Forum? I sure hope not.

Thanks

Jennifer

The settings of the user does not override the Forum settings.  But there are different ways to set permissions.  First is over the Module settings and the 2nd in the Forum Manager.  Look  to the Forum Behivor and check if it is Forum with post restriction, then check the Forum permissions as you want.

Thanks Matthias--my mistake was that I had the forum set to Private Moderated, but didn't include the 'with post restrictions' part. Problem solved. Thanks again.
