Hello

Re: DNN 4.5.5

I am unable to find a solution to this problem:

I am not able to create a child portal - after clicking "Create Portal" nothing happens, I have tried a "hard refresh" prior to creating several test child portals, with and without the "www" prefix  to mysite.com, I have tried selecting different templates and each time I get this error message:

Displayed on Portal page

Error creating Profile Definitions

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the portal page I can see all previous child portals, but for the "new child" I can see the edit icon pencil,  the delete X, the page title, users 0, under pages, it show a minus -1, but under the alias it is blank.

Displayed on "new child" page when click edit pencil.

Error: Site Settings is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings.GetSiteSettings(Int32 PortalId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.SiteSettings.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I can delete the "new child" portal.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the database "Portal Alias" the test "child portal" name is not displayed, but all previous child portals are shown.

I don't know if this is relevant or in any way connected but on this site, I can no longer see site log details, even though I have it set to 30 days.

I would appreciate any advice on this issue.

Thanks

Lynn

I suggest to clear EventLog first to get it running, in order to get more details for the create portal issue.

PLease executee the following statement from Host :: SQL:

TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog

Hello Sebastian

Thank you so much for the reply and the advice.

I am not sure what happened but the SQL statement kick started it all back into life.  I have just created 4 test child sites within a few minutes,  after trying for several days to create just one.

However, it did not solve the issue with the Site Log  I still can't  view any  details.  I dont suppose you have a magic SQL statement to fix problem that too.

Thanks

Lynn
