I have a question concerning the search engine from upgrading to 4.8.0 - 4.8.1 - 4.8.2.

On our productionserver we host 1 portal with 4 childportals and after upgrading to 4.8.0 the search engine tables (searchword, searchwordposition) increase rapidly. A clean database with empty search tables is about 300Meg, when we start indexing the database is at around 1.6GB in about 1 week and still increasing in size. Does anyone know what might cause this problem and how to fix it. I upgraded to the latest version 4.8.2 and this doesn't help us.

note. i know  that i can empty the tables but this is not a longterm solution.

Thanks in advance

are you sure, that it is caused by the search index? have you checked sitelog and eventlog as well?

to clear earch index and start from thread, follow this check list: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/134/Default.aspx

Yes i'm positive searchword is about 500MB and searchword position almost doubles that. Event log and site log are good in size (30MB max)
