Hi there

I want to carry specific advertising and other info on individual blogs. Is this possible ?

For example, I want to have the main blog landing page running like it is here on DNN. When I click through to an individual blog from the list of blogs on the left, I want to be able to carry specific elements on that page (like a photo of the author, perhaps a link to a biography on that author, and individual blogroll for that author, perhaps commercial advertising linked to that author) and so on.

Is this possible with the standard blog module ? Any help here would be most appreciated.

Hi Stan,

There are no features built into the DotNetNuke Blog module for advertising.  However, one could create a custom module to provide this functionality. 

Also, by default the blog view and the entry view appear in the same page in DotNetNuke.  To get the Entry View to appear in another page, you'll have to use a technique that came up in this thread.

I created a (narrow) left hand content pane in my skin and put the Google Adsense code (for a 120x600 skyscrper ad) direclty into this content pane. I then applied that skin to the page on which I had installed the blog module and all blog entries are now served up with context relevant ads by Google.
