I have a relatively new/fresh install of 4.8.2 on a dedicated server.  Tried installing both AD 1.00.00 and 1.00.03 Providers per instructions and get the same errors.

Checked permissions on root directory and subs and web.config.  All appears fine.  Checked web.config <httpModules> section and all appears ok (add name="Authentication" commented out as usual).  Cannot seem to get past this error.  Installs of regular modules goes fine.  Thoughts/Ideas?

Did you install the AD provider when you installed DNN?

I had no problems when I did my fresh install of 4.8.2 and selected custom and included AD.  I have installed in three seperate Intranet environments and had no problems with a fresh install with AD selected during install and even after the install using the module seperate.  Mike H has great knowledge on this subject and I have confidence he will help you out!

No, did not go through the custom install.  Trying to install it after the fact which should still work in theory.  Wish I had installed it during the install process.

Generally when I've seen this error in the past it was because of a permission issue. Are you using any impersonation in your web.config? Does NETWORK SERVICE have change permissions on your complete DNN directory?
