Hi,

When I try to install DotNetNuke, I get the message "An error has occurred writing to the exception log." Is this from DotNetNuke?

Thanks in advance

Check the permissions of the directory where DNN is isntalled and all the sub-directories.  The ASP.Net (XP, Win2000) or NetworkService (Win2003) needs to have Read, Write, Modify, and Execute access to the root directory and all sub-directories.

The directory the exception log would be written to is \Portals\_default\Logs.

What files are in this directory?  I write my log to the database so I am not sure what the file names are for the different logs.  You might try manually creating the file: Exception.xml.resources.  Also, make sure the ASP.Net (Win2000/XP) or NetworkService (Win2003) has List, Read.,Execute.,Write, Modify access to the file once you create it.
