Hello,

I have a question that i have been trying to figure out for some time now.

Is it possible to run asp.net (2.0) forms with their own web.config file from the DNN folder?  (The forms being in their own folder under the root)

So far i had all kind of errors. Only thing that seems to work is putting the files directly in the DNN Root and share the DNN web.config file.
This isn't very neat so i hope someone knows more about this.

Thanks in advance,
Anoiks

You'll need to create a web.config in the subdirectory that removes many of the thigns that DNN adds (assemblies, httpModules, etc.).  Check out this forum post for more information: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/199612/scope/posts/Default.aspx.

Hope it helps,

thanks, i got most errors out of the way. But i'm still stuck on one point:

Server Error in '/ASPTest' Application.

Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system can not find the given file.

I hope you can tell me which DNN add i need to remove for this. I'm not that good with web.config files just yet.

Thanks.

Nevermind, i now have it working only problem i have is that i cannot delete the codeSubDirectories. For some reason i cannot use the code

<remove directoryName="HTML" />

it comes back with the error that remove is not known. Is there any other solution to this problem then creating the folders?

Hmmm.... the page on the codeSubDirectories element is here, FYI: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/54dwfbb7(VS.80).aspx.

Have you tried putting a <clear/> element in there, rather than using remove?

Hope it helps,
