I am trying to upgrade a 04.04.01 site to 04.06.02.

After completing the upgrade, I get this error when I visit the site:

Well, I solved the problem.

I repeated the upgrade using the update package rather than the install package (I've been under the impression that the upgrade package is usually the way to go, so I may have to revise my thinking about that one.

I also used more care in setting up web.config from release.config and the prior version's web.config.

I'm not sure which solved the problem, but that particular problem has been solved.
