Good afternoon,

I am not sure if this is a feature of the Blog Module v3.04.00 or an issue which has suddenly occured during our update to DNN4 v4.0.7.00
Users are unable to adjust the Entry Date when updating the Blog Entry. Even logged in as a SuperUser this is field is not adjustable.

Can this field be locked/unlocked via Admin/Host settings or in the database at all ?

Thanks,

Hi Travis

there's no way to update the entry date once you have published the post. The txtEntryDate textbox is set to ReadOnly while editing an existing entry. Moreover the stored procedure in the database is designed not to modify that column in the record. I don't know if this was different in previous versions, or if it will be changed in future versions.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hi Dario,

Thanks for the quick response.
I have found in EditEntry.ascx the line: <asp:textbox id="txtEntryDate" CssClass="NormalTextBox" runat="server" Width="100%"></asp:textbox>
Which is the Entry Date field. Would you know where in the database or if there is a controlling file which may be adjusted to allow this field to be adjustable ?

Thanks,

Issue has been resolved by simply manually adjusting the Blog Entries via the database.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Hi Travis,

I'm happy to know that you've been able to manage the problem by accessing the databese: unfortunately that is the only way to do it. In fact the txtEntryDate is set to ReadOnly in the EditEntry.ascx.vb file (that is compiled in the install version). But anyway, even if you were able to fix this, you wouldn't be able to make it work, since the related stored procedure in the database dosen't modify the entry date. As far as I know, editing an entry's date isn't a feature in this Blog module version.

Best regerds,
Dario Rossa
