Hi,

I want to add drop downs to the product details page to specify the quanity of items to be purchased. I have created my own ProductDetails.htm template and added to the appropriate switch statement so that a drop down is being displayed.

What I want to know is how on postback do I get a handle on the drop down? I presume that because all the controls are added dynamically FindControl("ControlName") is not working for me. I am tempted to simply get rid of skinning engine for this page and actually have the controls on the web control direct but if anyone has an alternative solution please let me know.

Regards,

Biggs

Hi Biggs,

did you get any reply or answer on a different forum. I have the same intention. And I would be very happy for an idea!

Which container are you calling findcontrol on?  And are you sure that your code is adding server side controls to the container rather than just an html dropdown?

Can you access the other labels/controls in the form?  Either by FindControl or by using the controls collection directly (parentContainer.Controls[0])?
