Has anyone seen strange behavior with DNN 4.82 and postbacks ?

My view state is being trashed and a postback actually gets turned into page refresh by one of the core controls !!!

The following event is being raised from the IconBar.ascx.vb file when posting back from a button on the page.

Protected Sub optMode_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles optMode.SelectedIndexChanged
            If Not Page.IsCallback Then
                SetMode(True)
                Response.Redirect(Request.RawUrl, True)
            End If
        End Sub

I have RADMenu installed and a custom skin that I will be looking at in detail. I had to fallback to an earlier DNN version to get things working again.

Hi Jim,

I'm also facing a similar issue. Typically, while downloading a file. First time when I click on "Export" button, everything works fine. Next time when I click on it, this optMode_SelectedIndexChanged() event gets fired (don't know why!!) and it discards all the view_state information. It gives the effect that the page is just refreshed and no other action was taken. 3rd time I click on Export and it downloads the file, 4th time refresh and so on.

If the control panel is not visible (IconBar is not present) then my export button works well for each post back.

BTW, I'm using DNN 4.9.0

And I'm using Response.WriteFile() or Response.BinaryWrite() for downloading the file. After this, when I click on Export button again, I face the above said problem.

If you have found a solution for this problem or if you know the reason why this event is getting fired when I'm clicking on a button, please let me know.

Thanks & Regards,
- Vivek Athalye
