I had this problem before where Users were trusted with no chance for me to change them to be not trusted (text was greyed out). Last time, I figured out it was because the Users existed before I made the forum not trust new Users. So I started up a new forum with all new Users. In the Forum Settings > General Settings > Trust New Users, the box is NOT checked. Now I am in real testing, and have a new forum (Private Moderated with Post Restrictions) with new Users and they are, unfortunately, not being moderated.

Help!

Thanks

Jennifer

If I am right you while a trusted user change to untrusted.  I think you have to done this via the user manager of the Forum module for each user, or if you have the knowledge via a sqlscript over the Host-SQL for all users.

There is no festure to untrust all users at time.  The trust user is a feature of the complete Forum Module.  Not to Forum or Forum Groups.  So if you change a user in his settings to untrusted this caused to all Forums.

I don't understand the reply to my original post. What is it I might have done to change the Users from Not Trusted to Trusted? I didn't change any Forum Settings.

Now all my Users, even brand new ones!!! are being 'TRUSTED'. This is a huge thing for me because I promised this would be a moderated forum. ALSO, part of the problem is that I had someone sign up as a new User. Their first 10 or so posts were moderated perfectly, then BAM they are trusted and their posts are going right to the forum. Problem is I was that User, setting up this person as a test and I put those ten posts in within about an hour time period where I KNOW I did NOT change any Forum settings. It was like his User Trust changed during the posting of threads. HELP!

Thanks

Jennifer

Jennifer,

I can look to make a SQL-script that do setting all trusted users to no-trusted.  But you have to setting "Trust New Users"  in the General settings / User settings to disable, that means the check box is not checked!

Am I understanding it correctly? If you write a script, it will make the default be that Users are not trusted and I would have to manually check each User that I want trusted? That would be perfect. I just want to make sure the script will not keep changing Users from trusted to not trusted, as once I check them as trusted the only reason I would 'untrust' them is if they posted bad things.

Thanks for your amazingly fast responses this morning.

Jennifer
