I was fiddling around with the site settings from the Administrators menu. Under the page-management settings I changed the "Login Page" to some page that isnt at all "login". Now when I go to my page and klick login, I get to the page I put as the login page (!ofc! ), so, now I cant log in, and I cant change it back! It's like I locked the drawer and threw the key inside! what the *bleep* was I thinking?

Is there a way to get to the settings and change them?!

Thank you in advance.

Hey JohanKi,

If you have the access to the database, the easiest way to fix this is to just remove the LoginTabId entry that was added to the portals table when you set the Login page setting through the administrative tool.

If you are using the default portal (portal 0) you could execute this:

update portals

set logintabid = null

where portalid = 0

Make sure to restart your site after you have done this - if you have access to the file system - making an arbitrary change to the web config is often the easiest way to do this.

Take care,

Ian

That's funny, your description is almost exactly like my post where I created a simple script to fix this:

DotNetNuke Login is not working!! How am I going to get back in?

It does the same thing as Ian described above, but all you have to do is upload the page and browse to it.

Its also funny how natural doing that sort of thing is for a developer - but you don't necessarily know who exactly your audience is when replying to a thread such as this one. So good work John -- I'm going to bookmark this one and start directing people there instead!

Take care,

Ian
