I see that someone asked about background music being able to play on the whole site.  Someone responded by saying "there are plenty of flash mp3 players out there."  I want to also have background music without it stopping and starting on each page.  I have tried using a flash file to play the music and it works great for each page, including the on and off option with my swf file...but it starts and stops on each page rather than being continuous.  Does anyone have some good advice about continuing the music without interruption when pages are changed?  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Not sure you can accomplish this with a static HTML website, or DNN for that matter. The only way to do this that I am aware of is to have a completely flash website.

At the risk of being facetious, the best advice anyone could give you would be to not put any music on webpages.  It likely ranks near the very top of everyone's web-annoyances list.  You probably already know this, and are look for some real help :)

So, you won't be able to prevent music from stopping and starting when a page is changed.  To accomplish what you're after, you're going to have to find a way to create a secondary, hidden page, away from which the user does not navigate.  You could accomplish this by using frames, an IFRAME, AJAX, or perhaps a popup/under.  As a bonus, these are all additional ways to annoy your users! :P

Hope this points you in the right direction!

I agree completely!  If I hit a page and it starts making noise, I hit the 'Back" button immediately and go find somewhere else.

Brandon, I totally agree with you but sometimes we have to do what the person or organization comissioned us to do.  I can only try to make it as "unannoying" as possible.

The project is for an African non-profit medical donation site that the owners want original music that is acapella from African children that they brought back from Africa. The music can be somewhat compelling when you hear these children.  But to be honest, I also find myself grimacing and quickly turning down the volume too  (I'm a musician that won't perform or listen to "oldies" because I can't stand repetition).

I have to figure out a tasteful way of presenting this rather than just having an attitude.  Your suggestions are excellent.  I'm not very savvy with DNN yet.  How would I make an invisible page as you said?  BTW, your web site is terrific.
