I have just re-installed a test setup. With win2k3. It is running on an AD. I have setup IIS and its working and dishing out default.htm pages with ease. When I create a new web site and stop the default it will serve the default.htm pages but will only give me parser errors from my dnn extract into the same directory.

Here is the error.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Parser Error

Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Common.Global'.

Source Error:

<PRE><FONT color=red>Line 1: <%@ Application Inherits="DotNetNuke.Common.Global" Language="VB" %>
FONT>PRE>

Source File: /global.asax    Line: 1

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.42; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.42

I have given permisions to all the ASP.NET and NETWORK and IUSR_servername. As per instructions. Even added the default.aspx to the documents menu.

Not sure what is going on. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Just a guess but did you rename release.config to web.config?

Yes I have renamed the release.config to web.config. I would expect to see an installation screen but I get that error instead. I did have this working on the same machine and same os install under a virtual directory. We were having path issues with portals. So I just uninstalled everything. Re-installed IIS and dotnet 2.0. Just to be safe and. Created a new site. extracted all files and renamed the config file and get the error I posted.
