This may have nothing to do with AD authentication, but I have never seen it before - only in the one newly created portal with AD authentication. I created a new DNN security role, and then went to grant that role to users who had logged on to the site via windows credentials.

I get this error each time ... though it appears that the users were successfully put into the role.

Any thoughts or should I ask elsewhere?

A couple of things to look at.

1. Does this happen if you uncheck "Send Notification"?
2. Are your user account profiles getting completely filled (Firstname, Lastname, DisplayName, UserName, Email, etc)?
3. Are you running under other than the default "en-US" language and maybe even had that one disabled?
4. What version of the provider are you running (2 and 3 were fixed in the 01.00.04 beta)?
