Sorry, but I am new and I don't know a lot about DNN/software. Can anyone please tell me what can do with the source? How do you convert source files into a PA? Thanks...

the magic word is called "compile". I suggest to check out Michael Washington's online tutorials at dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com

The DNN core cannot currently be compiled due to the localization system.  I have been told that future versions will work to resolve that issue.

For a module specific basis I recommend looking at the toturoals at dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com as mentioned by Sebastian.

to be clear: there is no pre-compilation for the web site, but the library and WAP modules need to be compiled for use.

Is it very difficult to learn DNN and start making modules? I don't know a cent about these things. I am full time California attorney and would love to learn this stuff.

If I want to learn about developing modules, where should I start?
