So far I've attempted to install DNN 3 times and haven't haven't had any success.

I'm installing Version: 04.03.04 by using my hosting providers auto install package on a windows server.

Each time it fails I delete the whole package and the database, then I start from the beginning.

The first couple of times I tried, I got an error saying that the portal failed but it still said "Installation Complete". When I tried to access the site I was presented with a home page that had no content.  When I tried to login using admin, admin it said login failed. I tried various combinations of admin, Admin, ADMIN but nothing worked.

The last time I installed it I thought it had worked when I got a succesful message.

00:01:30.062 - Executing Additional Scripts:
00:01:30.062 -   Creating Portal: My Website
00:01:36.218 -   Successfully Installed Portal 0:
00:01:36.218 - Installing Optional Resources:

Installation Complete

But I still got an empty home page. This time when I clicked the login link I got this error message.

Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_ModuleSettings'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object.
'dbo.ModuleSettings'. The statement has been terminated.

Here are some screen shots of what I'm faced with.

Isn't there anyone out there who can help with this?

Having looked through the forums it doesn't look good when you see how many people haven't had a response to their initial queries. Also It doesn't give you much confidence in the package if the support is lacking.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go because I want my problem sorting NOW but on other support forums responses are usually much quicker than on here.

You should install 4.8.2.  An auto installer wont save you much effort, you still have to go thru the install wizard etc.  The only thing an auto installer really does is save you from having to ftp the files up to your account.  And since older versions of DNN have plenty of problems, you will save yourself a lot of time in the long run if you go with the latest and greatest version...
