I'd like to implement following functionality:

1) I'd like to use Private Registration and add to each registered user field "CustomerID" which I will update manually (In SQL Manager)

2) When user will login "CustomerID" will be stored somewhere (my question where ?)

3) On every page I'd like to be able to use this "CustomerID" to filter data for only this customer. As a datasource I will use 2nd SQL database and probably Indoo Grid.

Any ideas how can I do it with DNN ?

Thanks,

Adam

You can extend user profile to add new field CustomerID.  Check out this Blog on how to add a custom field.  You can use a list or string.  Then you can use the User Accounts to update the CustomerID instead of the SQL Manager.

The CustomerID will be part of the UserProfile.   You can get the CustomerID using the code below

Dim CustomerID as String = user.Profile.GetPropertyValue("CustomerID")

We can use that same advice and take it a step further if you are working with your own modules.  If you are indeed working with your own modules, then you can create a base class that inherits from the PortalModuleBase class, and expose your CustomerID information as a public or protected property.  Using the example previously posted, this method would allow you to do something like this in your modules:

Dim intCustomer As Integer = Me.CustomerId
