On Wednesday April 16 ,2008 I downloaded DNN from SourgeForce and within a few hours my server was infected with the nihaorr1 virus.  I am wondering if any body else has experienced it.  Norton does not see anything inside the zip but I dont think norton detects this one yet.

Thanks

Hi Britboy,

Did you install DNN on a internet-facing server such that it is available to the public, or did you just download and unzip?  Do you have any other web-applications running on the same server?

I have downloaded that install package on both a server, and a development machine.  I have not experienced any problems of any kind since.

This is a particularly insidious injector, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that some custom modules exhibit vulnurability.  However, it remains relatively unlikely that the core library and website would be the problem -- I am aware of only one DotNetNuke installation that has an infection (which I believe has since been rectified).  Cross-application database contamination remains the most likely infection pathway.
