can I develop Custom Module in DNN which is refrenceing exrernal .net assembly.

can we connect to DB other than Db in which DNN in installed.

Sure, you don't have to follow the DNN data provider model, you would simple code your module like any other asp.net application to connect with a different connection string, either hardcoded or stored elsewhere (web.config, database setting, etc)
