I realize that my needs are really basic here, but I've not been able to find a suitable solution after searching for several hours. I've tried various events modules/calendars and many are close to what I need, but none is perfect nor will they let me configure them to be "perfect". All we need is to display a calendar with a list of the daily events down below. Because we often have multiple events in the same day, we can't have them listed in the calendar cells. The AJAX functionality of displaying detailed information with a rollover is nice-but not critical. The old Intelli Calendar from Intellisoft comes very close, but we can't "Disable Month View Cell Events" like we can with the core DNN events module. The Events module is fine-except we need to have the current days events displayed underneath the calendar itself-no clicking to a new page or even a new window. Anybody have any suggestions? Any idea if this will be doable in the new Events module that's in beta right now? Anything we can do with the Intellisoft Intelli Calendar to disable the Month View Cell Events?

Any and all help is much apprecieated - thanks in advance

Not exactly possible, but something similar: if you have disabled Month View Cell Events, there's a new option in the coming version 4.0.0 to show all events for a day as tooltip, when you hover over a date.

A separate list of all events for the current day can be achieved with a second module instance on the page, configured to use the first instance as subcalendar (in section "SubCalendars Settings"). Set this second instance to list view and limit the list to current day's events only (in section "Event List Settings"). But note that the list view always starts with the current date, so users cannot get an event list from a selectable date. (They do get such a list if they click on a day in month view with Month View Cell Events  disabled, but you want to have the list without additional clicks).

This additional event list in a second module instance can basically be done with module version 3.3.8, but due to a bug it's not possible to limit the number of events in the list for recurring events. This bug has been fixed for the new version. I cannot say when this version will be available - currently there's a public beta test running. If you' like to participate, you can download the beta (after registration) from http://www.dnnevents.net

Thanks Michael, I'll give it a shot!

On a slightly related note - Any reason why many of my calendar items don't show up in the list view? It tends to happen more often with single events rather than reocurring ones, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what works and what doesn't. We only use the month view and when new events are created, the cell in the calendar is always active, but around half the time, there is nothing listed when one clicks on that day. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I spent a bit of time searching on this but the only solutions seemed to be ones where the situation was more black and white-i.e. all events weren't showing up due to a faulty setting buried in the sql code.

Hi zeke,

I haven't encountered that exact issue before. What are the exact details of those dates that don't appear in the list view (Start/end time/date)? How is your module instance configured configured (especially the list view in the Event List Settings)? I will try to reproduce your issue. Or could you provide an online example?

Thanks for the offer Michael,

I'm not sure how one would about trying to reproduce as it's so hit and miss I have a feeling we could spend several hours trying to figure it out. It's very hit and miss and really didn't do anything other than add the events module to the page and start entering things. Sometimes the items appear and sometimes they don't with no rhyme or reason.  I'll futz around some more and will post any success - assuming I can find it :)
