Hi,

I am looking for an urgent help for my search project. I already have a search form that I developed using ListX module which searches in database tables for data now I want to extend it to search in file system which is html. I tested the query in SQL Query Analyzer it works fine but now I don't know how to use these queries in DNN. i.e. OPENQUERY(), OPENROWSET() and FREETEXT().

If anyone have an idea how to use these queries in any DNN module then please share your experience.

Thanks

you cannot search in files using SQL. you either need to traverse the filesystem or ´follow the files table and open each file (according to file types).

Another option would be to use Index Server.

Thanks for your reply,

Actually Yes, I am using Index server for my HTML & PDF documents and yes I am using it for the first time so please bear with me.

How far I understand after studying couple of tutorials that even I use Index Server I do need OpenQuery or Openrowset to communicate with my data through index server.

If there's any alternate way to do so then please give some reference.

Thanks
