I am using DNN 4.7 for a while now for a site that generates about 3000 unique visits a day. It has a certain amount of custom made modules. These modules have 0 caching and work fine.

This site is constantly being updated and this is giving the necessary troubles. When I add or delete or move pages or modules (also the custom modules) the site just randomly shows the changes on each refresh. I mean when I add a module to a page for example, one time it is added ok, another time I don't see it only after a refresh, if I refresh again it is gone again etc etc, sometimes I have to add it twice or have to CTRL-F5 several times before I see the changes, clearing my browser cache does no good. clearing the dnn cache under the host settings and restarting the application usually does the trick though but this makes updating the site very time consuming.

Do any of you have experience with these kinds of problems and is there something to do about it? is the caching being optimized in future versions cuz this is a really annoying problem. It's the only serious drawback I have found for DNN so far.

My cache settings are:

Page state persistence: Page
Module Caching Method: Disk
Performance Setting: Moderate Caching
Compression Setting: GZIP

And using no cache makes the site load to slow so I really need a certain amount of caching.

Thanks in advance for any insight on this subject.

The same thing started happening to me after I set more than one worker process in the web garden settings of the site's application pool. It stopped after I changed it back to the default. Couldn't tell you why though...

Thanks for the reply mike. Could you give some more info about how to set it back to default? More than one worker process does this mean it is because I have more than one site running under the same default application pool or could it be 2 processed of the same web application? How can I fix this?

Anyone else has some more information about this?

Thanks in advance.

Here is my progress:

I created an application pool for every webapplication my server is running (which is 3 atm) and I set the application pool to the default settings which is 2 worker processes. My problem is not solved. I tried setting it to 1 worker process but after that I couldn't startup my webapplication again, I had to reset to 2 and restart my webserver.

So no solution yet. More suggestions perhaps?
