hi, does anyone know of any modules you can use on a site to display products/images with info then a click through to more details....that sets up the details pages automatically. It would work like a catalogue with details page or the SDN cart but without the buying options etc ..? im just finding DNN doesnt do this and the SDN cart is a bit much with all the functionality..this product with details functionality should be really easy but i cant find any good modules....? Any help appreciated.

thanks rmartin

It depends how much text you need to enter. You can use Ventrian's Simple Gallery if descriptions are just short. Ventrian's Property Agent is handy if products have lots of specific features that the visitor might want to be able to filter by. WildModules' Portfolio is a bit of a cross between the two and is also worth looking at.

I use Simple Gallery as a basic product catalogue and it is by far the easeist option, for both admins and content managers.

Ventrian's Property Agent may be exactly what you need.   You can make a catalog / list as simple or complicated as you like.  Start with one of the available templates to get started,  and you can create just about any type of catalog  you wish by editing the template.   You can have a catalog with an image (sized as you like) and description information from one or more fields.  The list cane be sorted by users if you choose to enable sorting.   When someone clicks on the item, you can display more descriptive information (rich text and/or custom fields) and have multiple pictures, which then can be displayed in full view and slide show.  Importing, editing, and exporting of templates is performed with the host account for this module, and the module is just loaded with features and options.  I would have to say that this module is in my top five favorites.

All of the modules mentioned allow you to publish categorised products with photos and descriptions... just like a catalogue. What is missing?
