Hi, We have a number of FAQs Modules v4.04 running on DNN 4.05.05. We also have the FCKeditor installed across the site.

The problem is when we input information into the Question and Answer fields using the Rich Text Editor, once the record is saved, the display adds in extra spacing above and below both the Question and Answer. When you look at the 'Source' from within the Rich Text Editor, it is wrapping everything in <p> tags which is causing the extra spacing.

Is there a way to disable the Rich Text Editor feature for FAQs and just have the Basic text box option? Or is there a way to stop the Rich Text Editor wrapping everything in a <p> tag? Any thoughts would be great!

AFAIR the <p> is added in texteditor control, i.e. you will beed to modify teh module and check for surrounding <p> and remove it.

If you go into edit mode you can replace the <p> with <div>, what this will do is remove the space from the top only, as the <p> (AFAIK) pushes a space down from the top, the div removes this and lets it sit at the top.

The bottom space remains and i think it more a programed space in the module over and above the test, but if you find a way to remove that as well let me know.

The default format (normal) is to wrap text with paragraph tags.

There are other formats that can be applied in the editor.  Normal (DIV) is one of them.

You can see the other formats in the editor.  And, you can configure the editor to change the defaults or to add other formats and styles ...
