Hello,

I have created my site using DNN 8.4.2. Initially I have developed my site over my development server. Now I have to deploy it over the clients hosting server. As far as my knowledge permits, there should be three things to be followed.

  • Creating virtual folder on hosting server with same name.
  • Attaching database to SQL Server
  • Setting up connection string within web.config.

The problem is that the clients hosting server has MSSQL support but no facility to attach database. Although I could create new database.

What should I do? Is there any other alternative?

Thanks and Regards

Irfan

I posted about this over on this thread yesterday... http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/-1/threadid/229082/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Basically you should back the database up from one server, create a blank database on the new server, and then just restore your backup onto the new blank database.

JK.
