I have DNN4.8.2 site up and running on my machine. I download the AD provider 01.00.03 install zip file and have no problem install it by following the AD Provider User's Guide. The problem comes when I try to use it. I log in using as Admin, go to Authentication, after I fill in all the info, when I click "Update Settings", I got a message saying "Error: is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. --->".

Here is the error message.

Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.ADSI.Utilities.AddADSIPath(String Path, Path ADSIPath) at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.ADSI.Utilities.GetRootEntry(Path ADSIPath) at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.ADSI.ADSIProvider.GetNetworkStatus() at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.Settings.UpdateSettings() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I use a LDAP account to look up the AD. I follow the User's Guide to fill out all the info including Root Domain and I use the LDAP account info for User Name and Password. Based on the error message, it seems this has something to do with the ADSIPath? Does anyone experience the same issue?

I read the User's Guide again and again and made the necessary changes to the web.config and IIS setting. And finally, it works!!! Turns out that I need to uncomment <identity impersonate="true" userName="domain\user" password="password"> and need to grant the same permissions that the ASPNET account has on the website directory in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.5.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files directory.
