Hi guys,

I had created a module for DNN and added it to the home page of DNN.

After adding the module, the module panel showed some error, so instead of removing the module from that page i went to the host settings and tried to remove the module from module settings.

I went ahead and removed the controls, and the definition of the module, but when i went ahead to delete the module itself , i was unsuccessful.

After that i tries to navigate o the home page and it showed me this eror message:-

An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

the querystring for this page is as follows:-

http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=78&error=Multiple+controls+with+the+same+ID+'ctr414'+were+found.+FindControl+requires+that+controls+have+unique+IDs.&content=0

So now when ever i navigate to the DNN url the home page shows the above error.

i.e I am not able to access the Entire application, so i cant change any settings using the DNN application.

How does one recctify this error?

How do i remove this module from the home page by manipulating the DB?

Please help asap!!!

Can you create a new page?

And can you also go to the Admin, Site Settings page?

If so then create a new page that will be your replacement homepage.

Try to import any modules that you still need off your broken homepage into the new homepage... just not the broken module!

Then go into Admin, Site Settings, scroll down to Advanced Settings...

Under Page Management select your new homepage as the homepage.

Delete the broken homepage.

If this doesn't work then something more drastic will be needed.

Good luck,
Rob

I had the same experience, the easiest way to solve the problem is to delet the relative files behind the DNN program, that mean you need to assess the program through remote assess to the DNN installation location and delet the modules files under the relative folder.  Hope this can help you.
