I created a second portal and began skinning it. Everything seems to be ok until I click on search, register, or login and then IIS freaks out. The app pool crashes and for each worker process the system logs has

And if I keep it up IIS will stop all together. I can login to Portal 0 without any problems. I have my own dedicated server for this dnn install. Any ideas or do I need to give more info?

there seem to be an issue in your IIS configuration. Did you make sure, not to mix .Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0 applications in a single App pool?

Also, check the application pool settings. Under the "Health" tab disable "Enable rapid-fail protection".

Turns out we had web gardens growing in IIS, which DNN doesn't support. So we've got the app pool back down to 1 process and things are happy again. Thanks for the replies!
