Does anyone consider that the admin account is too complex for a normal computer operater? pages,modules,skins... ...
I know that a majority of my friends only want to have simple module editor permision,,and have the permison to the portal settings,it's enough for them
Now the problem is: How to grant the portal settings permision to a normal user??

Maybe it's a illegitimate idea...but now I sure want to get it.

Thanks !!!

Yes this is a long-standing problem. It is supposed to be alleviated in DNN5 Cambrian due out sometime not too far away,

In the meantime you should create special roles for assigning page-edit and module-edit rights to users as required. Most content management tasks can be done with those.. but try and do something ridiculously simple like delete a file and you'll get stuck.

You can also use third party modules to provide some admin menu functionality to non-admins. Check out Snowcovered or the DNN Marketplace for those... You'll find Snowcovered much easier to browse around though.
