This is my first attempt at implementing a forum...

I'm running 4.8.3. When I login to the portal as an administrator/moderator I see the New Thread, My Settings and My Posts links. When I register on the portal as if I were a new public user, I can read the forum posts but can't post anything to the forum. Those links are missing. The "public user account" is listed in the forum users and is assigned registered user and subscriber roles on the portal. Even when I make the public account a moderator, it still can't post to the forum. Surely I'm missing some simple checkbox somewhere...

Please read the user manuel for the Forum 4.4.4 only some designs are a little other as in 4.4.3. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ModuleForums/Downloads/tabid/823/Default.aspx

Ah ha - updating the core to 4.8.3 led me to believe I had updated the Forum module also. Sure helps having the latest revision - thanks!
