SQL management studio is a free download from msdn.com - it is very much easier to use the graphical interface than the command line interface.  I wouldnt recommend trying to do any database tasks without it.

I agree with the above, it can be done with it, but the tool is free, so why not take advantage of it!

Hi Avinash,

I have installed DNN version 4.3.6 which I consider to be the less problematic and easier to deploy.

Actually you dont need to create a new Database, because there is an empty Database.mdf file inside one ot the installation folders at:

<drive letter>\<virtual folder>\Website\App_Data\Database.mdf

I wouldnt recommend using the database.mdf file - you have NO graphical interface to do standard database tasks with. 

Also DNN 4.8.4 is very easy to install without problems, and is the latest version which has all the latest features and security fixes...
