Hello,

I have just inherited a 250 page site based on DNN, there is Adsense present on most pages, all of it with the previous owner Publisher ID.

A: Does anyone know of a smart way to search/replace the Adsense code, or do I have to edit every single box on each of the pages ?

B: Is there any way to centralise Adsense code in one place, and then reference it as an 'include' whenever required ?

Thankyou

John

If it was included as part of an HTML module with the configuration set to Appear in all pages, then you can change it at one single place. The same should be true for the Admin Site Settings for Ad Words.

No, its amazing, every time the guy built a new page he tells me he cut paste the Adsense code out of notepad !

My background is classic .asp, and for this kind of problem I would just load up the site in Visual Web Developer and do a sitewide Search/Replace.

Is there no equivalent method with a DNN site  ? or is all the content stored in the Db ?

I am real reluctant to go searching through the SQL tables without a proper schema that tells me where to look.

Any ideas ?

John

The content is in the DB. It is possible to run a SQL Script that looks for the ad sense script and replaces it with the new one. However it makes more sense to use the Show in All Pages alternative after deleting all manual instances.

If the code is pasted into Text/HTML modules, back up your db and then use this free and handy module to find and replace the ID:
