Hello!

I have a problem with time localisation: the time zone I define in the portal's settings (or in the user's settings) is not taken into account (the date at the top left corner corresponds to the server's date).

Thank you very much for any hint to fix this!

Regards,
Fabian

Fabian,

you are right - this is a known "feature" of DotNetNuke. But even it it would add the difference between Server time zone and client time zone, there were missing DST correction. Please read here, what would be needed to be taken into account for this.

Hi Sebastian,

thank you for this feedback!
So am I right when I think that for the moment this timeZone DropDownList that figures in the portal settings does not serve at all?
Or does it work in some cases, and not in others?
Since the discussion you mention was there any integration of what is said there?

In fact my problem is the localisation of a forum, as described here.

Regards,
Fabian

Hi Fabian,

the core framework only provides a database field to store UTC offset and an interface for entering it - but AFAIK there is no calculation method provided (and no progress on DST correction as described in the article), so it is just up to module developers to use this information. AFAIK the forum module uses user time zone - please don't ask me, if and how they calculate DST ("summer time"), chrispy should be able to answer this question.

Thank you very much Sebastian - this is a valuable help!

Hope that I'll be able to get this fixed for the forum.
