Hey people,

Worked on my website on local domain for a long time :P no it's finally ready to go online. And as expected it presented itself with the usual arg-why-did-i-pick-dotnetnuke problems getting this error.

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

on the local machine i was running DNN 4.8 on a XP SP2 machine using the following settings.

IIS 5.1,
ASP 2.0
MS SQL 2000

and the server i'm putting it on to is

MS SQL 2005

I know the problem might be a bit vague, but it's kinda urgent :P i might be able to provide additional information later on. Mean while i appreciate any help / direction you can give me. Thanks

Hey R-J,

Could you update the web.config in your environment to set customErrors "Off" or view the error page from the machine that has the application on it? This will provide you with a more detailed message so we can help you troubleshoot.

Thanks,

Ian
