I've been using the default DNN-provided SiteMap.aspx file when I submit my sitemaps to Google (using Google Webmaster Tools). All has been good...until today I noticed every single website I'm hosting on DNN (we're talking approx 30) has SiteMap warnings.

Here's the warning. All the URLs in your Sitemap have the same priority.

Looking at my raw sitemaps, I see that all pages indeed are listed with a priority of 0.8. I think I've noticed this before, but no warnings from Google, no foul.

I'm not seeing a way to set page priority in the sitemap on a page-by-page basis. And I really don't feel like modifying the core--that's usually no fun.

I'm entertaining the idea of a 3rd party site map solution--but as I've been satisfied with DNN's method, I'd rather stick with what I got--if I can.

Anyone got any ideas on this???

this is a new change from google (see http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=All+the+URLs+in+your+Sitemap+have+the+same+priority.&meta= to see it impacting lots of people). I believe it's a warning and doesn't impact on your listing, but I've created an issue for this http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=7969&PROJID=2 so a change can be considered for a future release.

Thanks for the spot Cathal.

It's understood that this is only a warning and (at this point in time) does not impact PageRank or anything else.

At the same time, it would be very nice to allow for manual configuration to set an individual page's priority on the SiteMap—so thanks for adding that to the issue tracker.

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in here so this issue gets a bit more priority than it might otherwise recieve...
Everyone is having this issue whether they realize it or not. And just because it's a warning, doesn't mean it's not important.Placing priority manually in the page settings would be great!

It's pretty obvious that there should be a selectable sitemap value in the settings for each page. Has anyone submitted this?
