today i signed up for a dnn website. when i launched the site for the first time....i noticed that some of what i thought were core modules were missing. for example...

there is no "blog module" no "forum module" no "gallery module"

of course...i can purchase additional modules but......

is this normal when you sign up for a dnn website? seems a bit misleading.

I don't know if you have Host credentials for the site or not but if you do then sign in as Host and look under Host->Module Definitions. At the bottom Module Definitions you should see any available core modules that haven't been installed yet with checkboxes beside them. Select the ones you want and install them.

If nothing is listed there then you can download the core modules from this site by clicking on Downloads at the top of the page and selecting whatever core modules you want.

If you don't have access to the Module Definitions then contact your Hosting provider.

OK .. who ever it was that took the core modules please put them back : p

Those are all optional core modules .. because not everyone wants a forum, a blog, an etc.  All of these consume resources, so you have the option of installing them if you want them, and you are not forced to have these modules if you do not want them.
