moved a DNN installation  4.8.2 from "well working development server"  to produktion server today.

Experianced a problem I never saw before..

on the new server ISS  does not serve  Friendly URLS...

  • if I turn FU off everything works.
  • if I turn FU on, I can only get Default.aspx page..  all  menu tabs  are..  (page not found)  ISS  is  seems to be searching through filesystem for the files ..

Any ideas ?  this must be the ISS config ?

Thank you for any help

Hi  Jeff,

Thank you for answering,  unfortunatly....No error messages.

actually it  just behaves as it shuld..... when  page is not found...  404

The website is funktioning underneath. if I do this

url not working  http://mywebsite.com/Geografiskekort/tabid/192/language/en-US/Default.aspx
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

if I make amends  http://mywebsite.com/Default.aspx?tabid=192    it  works..

I am sure this is just an IIS setting.  What version of IIS is the production server using.

IIS 6  on  win 2003  server..    db  is on  ms sql 2005

the test server is same ...  but it works on test server ..

so its really mind buggeling  since I tryed to make all configurations same.. and copied from test to  production..

could this be something to do with user rights on the prod server ?

Im wondering if this is totally unic problem ..  or has anybody ever had this before ?
