Well, with DNN skinning, you don't need to design an ascx file, you just need to create html files, zip them up and upload them into a DNN portal.  The upload/installation process goes through your html and replaces all necessary elements (ie. skin objects and content panes) with the appropriate ascx code and create mirroring ascx files for each html file.  This was created to make it easier for skin designers who are generally more familiar with html.

hello  !

thanks for your reply

well we know how to design the html files but then a question arises how can we design the colouyr schemes + content pane + other modules in our html files. we don'y know much about the XML .  & i think all these seetings were done only in XML. how can we proceed forward in my HTMl files we just make place holder but still not give any setting about the other effects on it ..

please reply on this ///

thanks

ANDY

If you want to have diffrent colours for different pages, you create multiple skin pages and the change them for each page that needs a different colour.
