install Page Title Skin object from http://www.strohlsitedesign.com/ssd/Downloads.aspx and you can use [PageTitle] token as any other token.

The link from this site doesn't work. Does anyone have the skin object they could send me?

On a related note, how can I show the Site Title in the skin?

Timo's suggestion works just great. I don't think you really need a skinobject for displaying a page title.

I want to set my page title progammatically -- overriding the Tab title.

Something like: <title of talk> by <teacher name>

With each field pulled from the db based on an ID on the query string.  And of course this needs to affect the <title> tag on the page for SEO. Is this possible?

You may set the same property Timo mentioned before: PortalSettings.ActiveTab.Title

PS: with DNN 4.9.0 + you also may use the [Text] SkinObject with TokenReplace and use [Tab.Title] inside to display the page title.

Sweet!

Are there similar ways to set other <head> sections of the page, like meta data and description?  I like to set these from db so every page is unique and accurately described.  They're much more descriptive in Google's results page, too.

I presume any other module on the page can arbitrarily replace my title/description, though, right?  That wouldn't be good.
