Hi, I am a bit confused when it comes to the SQL licensing model. Let's say you have a DotNetNuke site that uses the SQL 2000 data provider. Hundreds of users hit this site every day. What type of SQL license is required in this situation? Would I only need a single CAL license for the web server since the only direct connection to the sql server is from the web server? Or would I have to take a hit and buy a processor based license for the SQL server since hundreds of people hit the site everyday?? Any info would be extremely appreciated.

I believe that the licensing model is based on the number of 'end users', not just the number of machines that will connect.  Consequently, you are probably going to need the 'per processor' licence.

I'm sure that if I'm wrong, someone will correct me

AFAIK you need a per processor licence for web based access.
